The TEK-Ocean Team comprises highly skilled industry specialists offering both onshore and offshore expertise to clients.  Led by an extensively experienced management team, TEK-Ocean has the right skillset in place to deliver on a wide range of projects regardless the complexity.

Bruce Wood

Non-Executive Director, Chairman

Bruce joined the Board of Todd Corporation in July 2012. His background is in the upstream oil and gas industry, with more than 30 years of experience in technical, commercial and executive roles in Australia, Europe, the United States and Central America.

He spent his early career with BHP Petroleum and Shell, where he trained as a Petroleum Engineer. He then progressed through a range of technical and commercial roles with Triton Energy companies.  Bruce joined Santos in 2000 where he held the positions of Vice President, Strategic Projects and President of Santos USA. 

Other executive roles have included being CEO of Delhi Petroleum Pty, and Managing Director of AWE, an Australian oil and gas production company.  Immediately after joining AWE in 2007 he led the company through the development and commissioning of the offshore Tui oil field in New Zealand; a field that at its peak produced over 50,000 barrels of oil per day. AWE then embarked on a dual growth effort: focussed exploration in Australian, New Zealand and Indonesia together with strategic acquisitions of incremental interests in AWE’s existing production assets.

Alex Biro

Non-Executive Director

Between 1984-1987 Mr Biro gained a broad range of experience from equipment design, engineering, manufacturing to installations of surface systems, wellheads, trees and control systems, land and jack up rig Operations mostly in the Bass Strait.

In 1988 he commenced his career in subsea developments mainly working in the Timor Sea and NWS. In 1993 he commenced consulting to Oil and Gas companies internationally by taking on challenges in Australia, West Africa, UK North Sea, South East Asia with an extensive client base BHPB, WMC, Santos, Esso, Woodside, ExxonMobil, Nexus, KNOC.

For the past 15 years Mr Biro’s main focus has been project management of deep water subsea infrastructure and underwater construction. These include, ExxonMobil (Angola), Tullow (Ghana), Husky (China), Anadarko (AMA1 Mozambique LNG).

Robert Thornton

Non-Executive Director

Robert Thornton, Mech.Eng., B.Sc. has served as Principal Consultant of Upstream Petroleum Pty Ltd.  Mr. Thornton Co-Founded Mogal Marine Pty Ltd. in 1991. He has considerable experience in the project management of subsea field developments and operations management of floating production systems and subsea facilities. Mr. Thornton served as General Manager Operations of BHP Petroleum responsible for Field Production operations, Floating Production Development and surface facilities and Systems. He serves as Director of Mogal Marine Pty Ltd. and was past Director of Upstream Petroleum Pty Ltd before being sold to AGR.

Keith Thomson

Non-Executive Director

Having commenced his offshore career as a well test trainee in the North Sea, he has gone on to attain a diverse skill set in Well Services / Completions & Subsea operations in the upstream petroleum sector.

He has been involved in the successful delivery of numerous marquee developments and projects across the North Sea and West Africa including BP’s Clyde / Harding & McClure Oil developments, ExxonMobil’s Nevis / Ness / Buckland / Skene & Erha / Bosi Subsea Oil & Gas developments.

In 2005 he moved to Australia to provide support to Anzon’s Basker Manta Oil development. Following on from this, Keith went on to provide consulting subsea & completions expertise to BHP’s Stybarrow / Pyrenees & Macedon Oil & Gas developments, ExxonMobil’s Kipper Tuna development, Santos’s Fletcher-Finucane Oil development and Inpex’s Ichthys Gas development in the various locations around Australia.

Mr Thomson is a founding director of TEK-Ocean as well as having served 2 years in TEK-Ocean management as company executive.

Jordan Glanville

General Manager

Jordan is a motivated, results orientated Manager with proven experience in leading high-performance teams and of successfully increasing efficiency and productivity whilst reducing costs.

A degree qualified Engineer with over 13 years’ experience in the marine, offshore, oil and gas industries, Jordan has a varied background spanning marine, logistics and engineering, having worked on both the client and service company sides. He has fulfilled a wide variety of roles, including Subsea Supervisor and Client Representative Engineer within Chevron and Tullow Oil. 

Jordan previously managed TEK-Ocean’s Victorian operations from 2015-2018 and has been with the company for over 9 years.

Ian Coombs

Finance Manager

Ian is an experienced Chartered Accountant, with a post graduate qualification in project management, and nearly four decades of experience.  Ian started his career in Chartered Accounting firms gaining audit, tax and statutory reporting skills.  From there Ian moved into commerce working in many industries ranging from property management, retail, government, industrial software, to oil & gas companies.

Ian has a proven record as a business partner, aligning the finance function to ensure the financial and strategic goals of the company are achieved.

Craig Hudson

HR Manager

Craig is a skilled Human Resources professional with over 30 years’ experience in providing HR leadership across a wide range of industries. Craig has extensive hands-on and strategic experience in all areas of the employee lifecycle and areas of expertise include talent management, organisational development, reward, leadership and management coaching.

Craig has worked in Human Resources leadership roles with leading organisations such as: Ericsson Australia, Boeing, Linfox, Energy Australia, Invensys Process Systems Australia, Schneider Electric and most recently with BAES – Applied Intelligence.

Craig brings a depth of Human Resource Management expertise from leading Australian and global organisations to TEK-Ocean.

Craig has an Grad Dip in Industrial Relations with Phillip Institute of Technology and The Human Resources Business School at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania USA.

Julie Ang

HSEQ Lead

Julie is an experienced HSEQ professional with over 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

Julie has knowledge and hands-on experience in management system processes including the planning and practical implementation phases of operations and projects.  She possesses in-depth knowledge of ISO and API standards, as well as the ISM code, which are critical to TEK-Ocean operations.

Matthew Boustead

Victoria Operations Manager

Matthew is a capable and enthusiastic Engineer with over 12 years of professional experience. Matthew brings a high level of flexibility which is demonstrated by successfully delivering a wide variety of engineering projects spanning mechanical, hydraulic and process engineering disciplines. 

Matthew previously managed TEK-Ocean’s Engineering team in Victoria from 2016 to 2018 and has been with the company since 2013. He has been instrumental in the success of several major projects at TEK-Ocean, including SIT/FAT projects, plug and abandonment campaigns, ROV campaigns and vessel upgrades.

Stuart Hendry

WA Business Manager

Stuart is a versatile and adaptable professional who brings more than 30 years of proven leadership and achievements within diverse areas of the oil and gas service sector. Stuart’s previous roles at Weatherford International included Regional Product Line Manager, Well Integrity (Asia Pacific), Country Operations Manager (Indonesia), Product Line Manager, Tubular Running Services (Australasia), Tender & Contract / Commercial Manager (Australasia) and Regional Product Line Manager, Tubular Running Services (Middle East and Africa). 

Stuart possesses a very broad skill set which includes outstanding communicative, collaborative, organisational, team-building, financial and leadership skills and has a successful track record in promoting organisational efficiency, increasing customer satisfaction, increasing growth and profit. 

Mathew Watkins

Joint Company Secretary

Mr Watkins specialises in Company Secretarial and Accounting Services for ASX listed and unlisted public companies in the mining, biotech and industrial sectors. He is the current Company Secretary of ASX listed Medibio Limited.

He specialises ASX statutory reporting, ASX compliance, Corporate Governance and board and secretarial support.

Melanie Leydin

Joint Company Secretary

Ms Leydin has 24 years’ experience in the accounting profession and is a director and company secretary for a number of oil and gas, junior mining and exploration entities listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. She is a Chartered Accountant and is a Registered Company Auditor.

Chartered Accountant since 1999 and since February 2000 has been the principal of chartered accounting firm, Leydin Freyer, and Director of Leydin Freyer Corp Pty Ltd, specialising in outsourced company secretarial and financial duties for resources and biotechnology sectors.
